  1. It's just something we never think of. Learning to read at an older age. It's something we as a society have taking for granted.
    It's great to see how passionate she is about it and she must feel a sense of achievement for what she's accomplished. I just couldn't imagine going through 60 years of my life without being able to read.

  2. I love hearing about these achievements, it is amazing how so many people in the world are unable to read and write and it is so unfortunate. I know people personally who didn't learn to read until their thirties and that is here in Scotland. I am glad to hear that there are charities setting up libraries and sending books to Africa to encourage education for ALL. It is also nice to see that this woman was able fulfil her spiritual needs of being able to read an actual bible, I am aware of a local missionary group who provide bibles to African communities and the result is amazing as the people are so appreciative to the point of tears and thanksgiving. It must be so emotional for them when they fulfil something that we take for granted.
